Q. What is personal injury?

A. Personal injury is the area of law designed to protect you in the event of damage to your physical well-being or your property as a result of someone's carelessness.

Q. Is personal injury law limited to auto accidents?

A. No. This area of the law reaches far beyond car accidents. It can be the basis for liability for job-related injuries, defective products, fires & explosions, malpractice, assaults, lack of security and many other areas. Liability is based on one of three theories: Negligence, Strict Liability or Intentional Misconduct.

Q. How do I know if I have a case?

A. Whether you have a case depends on only two things: (1) The nature and seriousness of your injury and (2) Was your injury caused by someone else's fault. Once these two things are proven, you may be entitled to an award for damages.

Q. What are damages?

A. Anyone injured in an accident will tell you that they wish it never happened. We can't go back into time and change history. Damages are meant to provide full & fair compensation for your pain & suffering, loss of income, and medical costs. Spouses are also entitled to damages for loss of consortium.
