On December 6, 1999, EPA proposed to approve revisions to Pennsylvania's State Implementation Plan which would allow the Allegheny County Health Department to issue federally enforceable operating permits under the Clean Air Act. Under this proposal all the approved permits issued by the Health Department would be consistent with one another and with the Clean Air Act. It would also allow the Health Department to limit sources potential to emit hazardous air pollutants so that they can be exempted from being considered major sources under TitleV of the Clean Air Act. As a result of the action by EPA, the Allegheny County Health Department would have full approval of its TitleV operating permits program. The Allegheny County Health Department has been delegated by Pennsylvania the responsibility for administering the Clean Air Act in Allegheny County.<\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
