Assistance to Foreign Countries.<\/p><p align=\"CENTER\"><b>Possible Specific Charitable Programs<\/b><\/p><p>The following is a list of some possible programs for your foundation &#8211; &#8211; it is only a partial list &#8211; some suggestions for you to consider &#8211; in your process of deciding upon &#8211; the mission of your foundation &#8211;<\/p><p>The ways in which a foundation can make a difference &#8211; &#8211; is only limited by the imagination of the directors or trustees of the foundation.<\/p><p>Choosing your charitable mission may take time &#8211; there is no deadline &#8211; no time limit &#8211; you may want to study &#8211; and try certain programs &#8211; before making your decision &#8211; this is good &#8211; this will help &#8211;<\/p><p>Whether it takes &#8211; two days &#8211; two months &#8211; two years &#8211; is not crucial &#8211; what is important is that your mission reflect your passion &#8211; your conviction &#8211; your choice of one or a few programs where &#8211;<\/p><p>With your &#8211; Time &#8211; Talent &#8211;<\/p><p>Collaboration &#8211; Money<\/p><p align=\"CENTER\">You can &#8211; make a difference.<\/p><p>A listing of some possible programs by areas of interest.<\/p><p>Children<\/p><p>1. Help in various ways for children who have been abused &#8211; physically or mentally<\/p><p>2. Success by 6 Program &#8211; being sure that all children receive the proper education and medical care they need by age 6<\/p><p>3. Being an advocate &#8211; to pursue and protect the legal rights of children in various areas<\/p><p>4. Foster, encourage and promote the adoption of children &#8211; both from the United States or foreign countries<\/p><p>5. Enrich the lives of children who are forced to live in foster homes because of family breakdowns.<\/p><p>Families<\/p><p>1. Provide assistance &#8211; guidance &#8211; support to families to help them leave the welfare rolls and become self-sufficient<\/p><p>2. Create a network of assistance to a family in crisis &#8211; because of a fire &#8211; sickness &#8211; or any reason &#8211; to help the family &quot;weather the storm&quot;<\/p><p>3. Develop ideas and programs to help families at the poverty level or just above it to increase family income and enrich their lives<\/p><p>4. A holiday giving program &#8211; Thanksgiving &#8211; Christmas &#8211; Easter &#8211; Fourth of July &#8211; to give gifts &#8211; food clothes, etc. to families in need<\/p><p>5. Create a foster family program &#8211; where one family that has all it needs &#8211; &quot;adopts&quot; another family that does not &#8211; to provide help where and when needed.<\/p><p>Education<\/p><p>1. Encourage the teacher in schools with annual awards and recognition of their efforts<\/p><p>2. Develop a core of volunteers to involve the community in extensive volunteer help for the schools<\/p><p>3. Fund a series of motivational speakers for the students to encourage their success in life<\/p><p>4. Seek out and provide scholarships to &quot;average&quot; students &#8211; who would otherwise not continue education &#8211; not only to college but to a trade &#8211; profession<\/p><p>5. Create a community volunteer program where students, as part of their education, become volunteers in charitable activities in the community.<\/p><p>Hunger<\/p><p>1. Seek out families in your community that are hungry &#8211; and find ways to solve that problem for them<\/p><p>2. Create a collection and distribution center for food to be distributed to those in need<\/p><p>3. Fund a study of how food that is being wasted and thrown away could be collected and given to those that are hungry<\/p><p>4. Sponsor and fund an event for charity &#8211; a walk for hunger &#8211; to raise funds for this need<\/p><p>5. Study and publicize the facts of hunger &#8211; in your community &#8211; state &#8211; nation or the world to raise public awareness.<\/p><p>Housing<\/p><p>1. Study and create ways to provide adequate housing for low income families<\/p><p>2. Build and support a shelter for the homeless<\/p><p>3. Provide suitable temporary housing for families in crisis &#8211; from fires &#8211; abuse &#8211; neglect, etc.<\/p><p>4. Create and provide housing for immigrants moving to this country who have very little<\/p><p>5. Enrich the living conditions of those living in sub-standard housing &#8211; with new furniture &#8211; new paint &#8211; &#8212; improvements.<\/p><p>Disabled Persons<\/p><p>1. Training and supplying of pets to disabled persons &#8211; dogs for assistance to disabled persons<\/p><p>2. Providing mentors and friends to youths who are disabled<\/p><p>3. Creating or assisting in programs for disabled persons provided by organizations<\/p><p>4. Enriching the lives of disabled persons &#8211; with material help &#8211; or programs, cultural events or sports they can become involved in<\/p><p>5. Assistance to any organization or family that is caring for a disabled person.<\/p><p>The Elderly<\/p><p>1. Build, develop, and improve in the community &#8211; community drop-in centers for the elderly<\/p><p>2. Develop programs where the elderly can find a meaning and purpose for their lives<\/p><p>3. Establish programs on a wide scale to enrich the lives of the elderly in nursing homes<\/p><p>4. Create an &quot;adopt a grandparent&quot; program for children to &quot;adopt&quot; and be a friend to the lonely elderly person<\/p><p>5. Be a champion for the legal rights of the elderly &#8211; who do not have the power to protect themselves.<\/p><p>Disaster Relief<\/p><p>1. Collect food, clothes, supplies and other goods to be shipped to areas hit by natural disasters<\/p><p>2. Organize a community fund drive or event to collect funds to assist areas hit by a disaster<\/p><p>3. Establish a body of community support to help any family hit by a fire or other disaster<\/p><p>4. Establish a fund to provide help in anyway for one full year to any family struck by a natural disaster<\/p><p>5. Study the ways in which groups of persons in other countries can prevent or minimize the effect of a natural disasters on themselves.<\/p><p>Veterans<\/p><p>1. Become a strong advocate for the rights of veterans in any number of ways<\/p><p>2. Create a veteran&#39;s center in the community to give them a place to meet and benefit<\/p><p>3. Find ways to enrich the lives of disabled veterans living at home or in veterans&#39; hospitals<\/p><p>4. Create a wide ranging national program for all citizens to be aware of and appreciate the contributions of veterans to freedom<\/p><p>5. Be a strong force to establish volunteers to veterans in the community to enrich their lives.<\/p><p>Hospitals &#8211; Nursing Homes<\/p><p>1. Become an advocate for patient rights and benefits not being met<\/p><p>2. Research and study ways in which alternatives to nursing home care could be established and maintained<\/p><p>3. Be a catalyst to organize a community to become aware of, and demand the best care from, hospitals and nursing homes in their community<\/p><p>4. Seek ways to enrich the lives of persons in hospitals &#8211; nursing homes by gifts &#8211; visits &#8211; other ways<\/p><p>5. Study and publicize the ways in which government, community and private money could be used to provide better care.<\/p><p>Crime<\/p><p>1. Initiate and organize meetings in the community between opposing groups to ease tensions &#8211; solve problems<\/p><p>2. Provide seed money and support to organize after school programs for youths in the community<\/p><p>3. Establish and implement a strong program to be presented in schools to discourage the use of drugs<\/p><p>4. Establish in communities &#8211; a youth service provider network to identify youths &#8211; headed for trouble to be referred to agencies for guidance and assistance<\/p><p>5. Research the ways in which a community and its people can help to prevent crime in that community.<\/p><p>Animal Rights<\/p><p>1. Research and be an advocate for the preservation of spotted dolphins or any other endangered species<\/p><p>2. Research and be an advocate for the preservation of any land area serving as a habitat for animals<\/p><p>3. Seek to increase the number of animal shelters and community volunteers to protect animals<\/p><p>4. Create an awareness and seek to increase the number of families willing to adopt a pet and provide a good home<\/p><p>5. Seek to find practical ways in which pets can enrich our lives &#8211; pets for the elderly &#8211; visits to hospitals &#8211; to schools.<\/p><p>Culture &#8211; The Arts<\/p><p>1. An orchestra &#8211; singers &#8211; any group supported to present concerts &#8211; plays &#8211; in a community<\/p><p>2. Owning and supporting a theater or other location to be used to sponsor and present cultural programs for the benefit of the community<\/p><p>3. A music program to promote and spread the joy of music to children of all ages<\/p><p>4. Organize and support a museum for art &#8211; whaling &#8211; aquarium &#8211; or anything else<\/p><p>5. Study completely a community and its existing resources to find ways to use such resources to increase cultural events for its citizens.<\/p><p>Disadvantaged &#8211; Minority Persons<\/p><p>1. To reach out to minority groups in a community to find and meet their needs<\/p><p>2. To become an advocate nationally for any minority &#8211; or disadvantaged persons whose rights are being violated<\/p><p>3. To provide the seed money and be the catalyst to establish programs for the minority groups<\/p><p>4. To study and be an advocate for the rights of minority groups being exploited by sub-standard working conditions and wages<\/p><p>5. Be an active force to promote and improve the relationship in a community of all ethnic groups with one another.<\/p><p>Women&#39;s Rights<\/p><p>1. Being a national advocate for women&#39;s rights that are not being protected<\/p><p>2. Study and create ways in which restraining orders can be made more effective for women<\/p><p>3. Provide support in a variety of ways for any shelter for battered women<\/p><p>4. Seek and establish safe housing &#8211; temporary or even long-term for abused women<\/p><p>5. Create a community system &#8211; of legal &#8211; social and &#8211; professional &#8211; help and support for women in crisis situations.<\/p><p>Religion<\/p><p>1. Loans &#8211; andgrants to new churches being established in communities to help them become established<\/p><p>2. Distribution of religious books and religious educational material to the public<\/p><p>3. Spreading the message that a return to faith and morality are needed to build a successful country<\/p><p>4. Assistance to missions in foreign countries to help them be more effective in their work<\/p><p>5. Attacking a specific cause of the moral breakdown of society in the modern world.<\/p><p>Medical<\/p><p>1. Study and support research for one medical problem to seek its cure<\/p><p>2. Working for one area of the population, e.g. pre-school children &#8211; the elderly to be sure that they are receiving adequate medical care<\/p><p>3. Being an active supporter of one area of medical assistance &#8211; e.g. in the lives of persons afflicted with one specific medical condition<\/p><p>4. Become an advocate for proper assistance and research by the government and others in one area of medical needs<\/p><p>5. Become the catalyst for more active fund raising events to increase dollars to organizations providing help and assistance for medical needs.<\/p><p>The Environment<\/p><p>1. Study and become an advocate for the correction of one or more abuses of the environment<\/p><p>2. Organize within the community specific steps that can be taken by everyone to protect the environment<\/p><p>3. Study and become a motivating force to have business improve steps to protect the environment<\/p><p>4. Organize grass roots efforts on a large scale of persons who will become advocates for protection of the environment<\/p><p>5. Study and become an advocate for the government to provide more dollars and enact more laws &#8211; for the protection of the environment.<\/p><p>Land Preservation<\/p><p>1. Organize more or more land trusts to buy and hold and preserve open land in communities<\/p><p>2. Study and advocate the ways in which local &#8211; state &#8211; national governments can be more effective in land preservation<\/p><p>3. Organize and foster local community organizations to mobilize community forces and opinions and dollars to preserve open land<\/p><p>4. Study and advocate and promote effective ways in which individual land owners can preserve their land for the future benefit of generations.<\/p><p>5. Create and organize a national organization working towards the preservation of open land for future generations.<\/p><p>Assistance to Foreign Countries<\/p><p>1. Working to support and increase medical assistance in poor countries &#8211; by initiating and supporting medical providers<\/p><p>2. Creating ways to increase income of the populations of persons living in poverty<\/p><p>3. Providing support and creating better living conditions in various ways such as water &#8211; food &#8211; housing in sub-standard areas<\/p><p>4. Becoming an advocate for business to provide and pay better wages for work done in foreign countries<\/p><p>5.
