The program is divided into two parts. Part A is hospital insurance. Part B is medical insurance. Most people over 65 are automatically eligible for Part A. For a monthly premium, you can get Part B<\/p><b><u>WILL MEDICARE PAY FOR A STAY IN THE NURSING HOME?<\/u><\/b> <p>Yes, <b>but only up to 100 days<\/b> for a semi-private room. More specifically, for days 1-20, if you have paid up to your yearly Part A deductible, Medicare will pay for all the nursing home cost. For days 21-100, Medicare pays all covered charges except the &quot;coinsurance&quot; amount. This amount goes up every year. <b>For days 101 and beyond, you are on your own.<\/b><\/p><b><u>ARE THERE ANY CONDITIONS THAT MUST BE MET IN ORDER FOR MEDICARE TO PAY FOR MY NURSING HOME STAY?<\/u><\/b> <p>Yes.<\/p><ul><li>You must spend at least three consecutive days in a hospital.<\/li><li>You must need skilled nursing care or rehabilitative therapy every day.
