{"id":39347,"date":"2015-09-17T11:25:58","date_gmt":"2015-09-17T16:25:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.findlaw-admin.com\/ability-legal\/contracts\/uncategorized\/employment-agreement-mattel-inc-and-neil-friedman.html"},"modified":"2015-09-17T11:25:58","modified_gmt":"2015-09-17T16:25:58","slug":"employment-agreement-mattel-inc-and-neil-friedman","status":"publish","type":"corporate_contracts","link":"https:\/\/corporate.findlaw.com\/contracts\/compensation\/employment-agreement-mattel-inc-and-neil-friedman.html","title":{"rendered":"Employment Agreement &#8211; Mattel Inc. and Neil Friedman"},"content":{"rendered":"<pre>November 14, 2000\n\n\nMr. Neil Friedman\nPresident of Fisher-Price Brands of Mattel\nMattel, Inc.\n333 Continental Boulevard\nEl Segundo, California  90245-5012\n\nRe:  Amendment to Your Employment Agreement\n     --------------------------------------\n\nDear Neil:\n\n          Pursuant to action taken by Mattel's Compensation Committee on August\n16, 2000, this letter agreement constitutes an amendment to your Employment\nAgreement with Mattel.\n\n          Notwithstanding Section 5.1 and 5.4 of the Supplemental Executive\nRetirement Plan (the \"Plan\"), and in lieu of any benefits you would otherwise\nreceive under those provisions of the SERP, in   the event that your employment\nwith Mattel is terminated hereafter (i) by Mattel without Cause (as   defined in\nyour Employment Agreement), or (ii) by you for Good Reason (as defined in your\nEmployment Agreement) or (iii) by you as a result of your retirement after the\nage of fifty-five (55), your benefits   under the Plan shall be fully vested and\nyou shall be entitled to an annual benefit of $300,000 for your lifetime,\nregardless of your years of service, age, actual compensation or average\ncompensation.\n\n     You hereby agree that you have no intention, other than as a result of\nphysical limitations beyond your control, to retire prior to the age of fifty-\neight (58).\n\n          I would appreciate it if you would sign, date and return a copy of\nthis letter agreement to  me.
