Thompson"},"content":{"rendered":"<pre>\n                                   AMENDMENT\n\n\n     This Amendment, effective as of January 12, 2000 (the 'Amendment'), is made\nby and between Salton, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the 'Company'), and John E.\nThompson (the 'Executive'), a resident of the State of Illinois.\n\n     WHEREAS, the Company and the Executive are parties to an Employment\nAgreement (the 'Employment Agreement'); and\n\n     WHEREAS, the Company and the Executive desire to amend the Employment\nAgreement;\n\n     NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual undertakings of the parties\nhereto, the Company and the Executive agree as follows:\n\n        1.   Section 3.1 of the Employment Agreement is hereby amended by\n     substituting 'December 31, 2002' for December 31, 2001.'\n\n        2.   All capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein have the\n     meanings ascribed to them in the Employment Agreement.\n\n        3.
