In late breaking news, the INS budget bill authorizes the INS to collect a "premium processing" fee of $1000 on certain employment-based petitions. While the final budget does not include information about which types of visas would qualify for premium processing, or specific time frames, the original budget proposed 15-day processing for certain I-129 and I-140 petitions. According to this proposal "fifteen day processing" means that the employer would receive an approval, rejection, or request for further evidence within the specified time.
